WHAT IS
THE XCENTER?

XCenter’s goal is to partner with students, faculty, and industry to reinvent how people and technology interact. Focused on innovation and invention, it brings together unique, and sometimes non-traditional, perspectives from industry and academia to facilitate forward-thinking approaches to design, usability, and product management. It teams up with organizations across sectors to envision where their industry will be in 5-8 years and it will help them get there.

The future of how humans live, work and play with technology starts here

“The XCenter will provide our students with many opportunities to augment their classroom work with even more hands-on project work in user experience, customer experience, product design, and more. This state-of-the-art usability facility will enhance our students’ experience and help to build bridges to corporate partners and collaborators.”

Gary Bertoline, Dean of the Purdue Polytechnic Institute

“We see this being a new epicenter for inventive product design, user experience, and customer experience. Purdue University was selected for the center because of its reputation as one of the most innovative universities in the United States, its “can do” culture, and its location. The XCenter is an natural fit with the Districts overall focus on and integration of data, connectivity, and technology.”

Troy Hege, Vice President Innovation
